argh.. this is yet another late entry but i was again busy for the last few days and it was only now that i get to have some spare time to update again. it took place last thursday and i had to wake up early in the morning at 6am to dress up for the occasion. i was quite pissed at my top because it looked like i didn't iron it at all!!! oh man, no time to amend the damage anymore so i looked rather untidy but it was not my fault. i swear never ever to wear that shirt again, i have gotten another formal top to wear for teaching scholarship presentation ceremony liaoz. anyway, met up with pork to go together to civil service college at buona vista for the programme. we arrived on time and went straight into the auditorium after we've registered our name at the counter.

in the auditorium, we first have opening speech and then an ice-breaker which is scavenger hunt and cheer shouting. i was quite skeptical as it is hilarious to just think of a group of near adults or adults wearing formal wear with ties and heels to play games and cheer. but it turned out not as bad la, even though my group cheer sounded like a group of drunkards singing incoherantly. :P we had lots of talks by quite a few speakers. i had to admit i was pleasantly surprised as the whole thing did not turn out as boring or dry as i initially expected. although what some of the speakers talked about are stuff that i already know from my past half-year teaching experience, the way they appeal to their audience was interesting and captivating thus i wasn't bored to say the least. :)

there was this last speech by an experienced educator who will become the principal of the new northlight school that really touched me and left a very deep impression on me. her speech was very heart to heart and the way she talked about her past encounters was funny thus i really enjoyed myself during her talk. i felt like i gained a lot from what she said and after hearing what she said made me even more determined to become a teacher despite all the obstacles and difficulties. there was once when she talked about how she and her staff helped a rebellious guy turned over a new leaf by giving him a chance to go to school when others rejected his application. when i heard her recount, i was so touched that tears start brimming my eyes la! i hope that in my teaching career in the future, i will be able to make a difference in at least one student's life. i will be most happy and motivated if i can do so. i shall focus on my studies in university to gain the knowledge to pass on to my students so that they can benefit the most out of me during my lessons. that shall be the pushing factor behind my tedious mugging in university for 3-4 years. i shall also start preparing myself for life as a teacher in the future! i will become a chinese teacher in a few years time! i shall put in my utmost in my job because it is sacred.

teacher is a STAR, someone who is Special with Talents, Aspirations and Resilence!!! i love the star keychain!!! i will teach the kids, i will teach the kids, i will teach the kids...with love! (modified Ramica warrior cheer :P)
